Showroom

Edenbridge Galleries Talk

At the end of November 2015 I spent a wonderful weekend with Lennox & Sue Cato at the Edenbridge Galleries in Kent showing a selection of carriage clocks and giving a lecture on the clocks and lives of both the Jacot and Drocourt families. It was lovely to catch up with my old mentor Derek Roberts and spend a couple of evenings discussing the clock world.

In   mid-September   2015   I   was   invited   by   a   group   of   horological   enthusiasts, who   were   on   a   tour   of   the   south-west   led   by   Steve   &   Jean   Jackman   who   run   the Quality   Time   clock   courses   in   Sussex,   to   undertake   a   talk   on   the   carriage   clocks of   Jacot   and   Drocourt   at   Pentillie   Castle   in   Saltash,   a   wonderful   small   hotel   with fine views over the Tamar and beyond. A    quite    sumptuous    dinner    was    followed    by    a    discussion    of    my    research complete    with    images    illustrating    the    various    points    made,    alongside    the viewing   of   thirty-five   plus   clocks   by   these   two   makers.   A   thoroughly   enjoyable evening.
