D308. Richard and Company. A very fine fully engraved and gilded carriage clock, circa 1870, which strikes and repeats the hours on a gong. The white enamelled dial has black roman numerals for the hours and delicate arabics for the minutes. It is surrounded by a fine engine turned and gilded mask. Richards stamp may be seen to the bottom left of the backplate. The original lever escapement is of fine quality.
