This unusual and very substantial and interesting clock by Guilmet is based on the miner’s ‘Davy’ lamp. An example is illustrated in Mystery, Novelty & Fantasy Clocks by Derek Roberts - fig.22 - 116.
It has a ring carrying handle on top beneath which is a ‘ lamp’ and a compass. There are three brass columns surrounding and supporting the body of the clock between which are three silvered dials, one for time, a second for Reamur / Fahrenheit and the third is a barometer. Below is the ‘ lamp’.
