Description / Expertise
D341. This impressive and relatively large (8.3" handle up) carriage clock, in the Anglaise Riche style, has a gently bowed limoges enamel dial with matching glass.
The dial, as with most Limoges enamelling, is very finely executed. To the top left a cherub may be seen flying through the sky, whilst in the other top corner is a dove. A tree, faintly outlined, is to be seen on the right, whilst to the bottom left a young maiden is reclining with her dog alongside her. On the right another cherub, holding a golden bow and arrow, is looking at her.
The movement strikes and repeats the hours on a gong and is numbered on the back-plate
3?22.
Ht with/without handle 8.3" / 6.4" (21/16.cms. £7,750.
