Description / Expertise
D373. A most impressive and relatively large anglaise riche petite sonnerie (quarter striking) carriage clock, circa 1880, which is finely engraved on all four sides and also the top and the mask around the dials.
It bears the mark of Drocourt (DC on either side of a carriage clock) and the serial number 16731, which is repeated on the bottom of the clock and also the back-plate and the original travelling box. In the base is the selection lever for strike/silent. The main dial, with roman numerals, is signed Olivant and Botsford, Paris whereas the alarm dial below uses arabics.
