Description / Expertise
D371. James Condliff. A fine example of one of his classic third series skeleton clocks, retailed by Litherland Davies & Co, whose name appears on a plaque applied to the base.
Characteristic features include the employment of a going barrel, a great wheel considerably larger than the chapter ring and a simple but delicate and attractively designed scroll frame. It has passing hour strike concealed in the base, which is veneered in rosewood and rests on bun feet.
Height with/without dome. 15.75"/13.75" (40/35cm)
